Speaking

I like to talk. I probably like to talk too much. When I was in school, it used to get me into trouble and my teachers would move me around and around and try to sit me next to people to see if I would just shut up and I didn't. My fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Paddock, once told me that if I didn't learn to stop talking, I wouldn't get anywhere. Guess what, Mrs. Paddock? Now I get to talk to people all the time and they even ask me to come talk!

I like to talk in general but I can give prepared talks on fasting, meal planning, grocery shopping, homeschooling, raising Orthodox children, managing the teen years, hobby farming and it's Biblical relevance, and the seemingly unrelated but also the equally awesome topic of knitting. Have something different you would like me to talk about? I am super laid back and can totally roll with the punches so hit me up. Let's talk!

Currently scheduled talks:

October 12-14, 2018, St. Louis (Missouri), St Emmelia Homeschool Midwest Conference
"Learning with the Seasons: What Homesteading has Taught me About Homeschooling. Melissa will speak on finding a natural rhythm of teaching and learning developed while homeschooling on her family's small farm. Children grow and develop over time and every year is a new year with new opportunities. Melissa will focus on helping homeschooling parents learn how to think in terms of seasonal goals that are in synch with their children's mental, emotional, and physical growth." REGISTER

November 15-18, 2018, Antiochian Village, Ancient Faith Women's Conference
"Finding Peace When Looking for Dinner. Approaching the fasts often leave us anxious and sometimes unhappy, but it doesn’t have to be that way. This session is an opportunity for fresh and open conversation about finding habits and skills so we can make peace with dinner. Melissa has also designed our menu for the retreat!"  TICKETS
